Categories

New for 2023: as opposed to previous editions, where categories were segmented based on the type of products, this year we have 3 expert-judged categories, as well as the Consumers' Choice Award. Both vegan food, cosmetics, and non-food products are welcome to enter.

Familiarize yourself with the categories below, and check the exact questions you will be asked during the application process.

Sustainability

Overview

At V-Label, we firmly believe that sustainable practices are the cornerstone of a thriving plant-based industry. By recognizing and celebrating outstanding sustainable initiatives, we aim to inspire others and drive positive change.

We’re looking for exceptional products that prioritize:

  • Impact reduction: offering plant-based alternatives to traditionally animal-based products and ingredients.
  • Carbon footprint reduction: showcasing efforts to minimize greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change.
  • Water conservation: optimizing water usage and reducing water waste.
  • Waste management: focusing on waste reduction, recycling, and circular economy principles.
  • Sustainable sourcing: prioritizing ethical and sustainable sourcing of ingredients.
  • Social impact: creating positive social change, such as fair labor practices, worker welfare, or community support.

Overview

Entering this category is a unique opportunity to increase consumer engagement, build brand awareness, and connect with your target audience. Displaying the Winner label on your product’s packaging helps convince new consumers to purchase it, too. Entries in the Consumers’ Choice Award will be displayed on the Awards website from September until the end of the year,  and Entrants will receive graphic templates they can use to encourage their followers to vote for them in the public voting period.

Eligibility

Unlike the other three, expert-judged categories, the Winners of the Consumers’ Choice Award will be determined through public voting.

The application process is extremely easy: upload an image clearly displaying your product, and a 500-character description that highlights what’s great about this product; why it is unique and innovative in its category, or how it is striving for sustainability and positive impact. All that’s left is the public voting: during the month of September, make sure you encourage your followers to vote for your entry!

This category has 11 subcategories, ranging from meat and dairy alternatives to confectionery, cosmetics, and non-food products, and a Winner will be announced in each, as long as there are at least 3 entries within the category.

The Consumers’ Choice category is open to Vegan-certified products of V-Label licensees only. Licensees may contact their local licensing partner for a custom coupon code.
